Troop 100 has been guiding young men for 60 years and making an impact on their lives as they in turn make an impact on the community through their progress in the Scouting program. Today Troop 100 has had over 160 Eagle Scouts join the ranks of so many before them and we look forward to having you join them as you set your sights on your future growth.

We will have a visit from potential AOL Cub Scout Crossovers, and Dutch Oven Desserts.

9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Oregon Trail District Merit Badge Fair at the Eugene Church of Christ, 2424 Norkenzie Road, Eugene.
Posted online prerequisites should be completed and brought to the Fair by Scouts expecting merit badge completions.
See the Eagle required and elective merit badges still offered at the calendar on PCCScouting.org. Register online by January 29, 2026 by 11:59 p.m. for remaining merit badges. Registration includes lunch.
Record keeping will be done by Scouting Black Pug software at the Fair from which Blue Cards can be printed, but not all the files given to the troop have worked in the past and data errors have been made in the past. So we recommend that Troop 100 Scouts request a Blue Card at the troop meeting or head table on Saturday, legibly fill it out with precision, request that the counselor sign it at the class, and turn it back into Troop 100 at the head table at the Fair before leaving. This Blue Card double check has proven to be the best way to make sure all earned merit badges are later presented.
(Unregistered walk-ins at the Fair should come to the Head Table and we will see what we can do to get you into classes.)

This week the meeting emphasis will be on the Ravine Crossing and Compass Course requirements at Snowando where Scouts have struggled in the past.

This Saturday, January 24, 2026, 6:00 a.m. Leave Wesley Church for the Pacific Crest Council Snowando at Lemelo Junction east of Roseburg. Day event for Troop 100, so that we can enjoy dinner at the In-N-Out Burger in Roseburg on the way home with Scouts from other troops!
Final signup at the troop meeting this week. The troop's patrol will be under the leadership of PL Alex Bradley-Price and APL Elijah Kim.
The patrol will assemble its gear and finish practicing for these stations this week: Ravine Crossing, 8 knot challenge, Popcorn in a Dutch Oven, First Aid, Compass Course, Hill Climb, Skits, Shelter Building.
Show your grit! The guide and lists of the individual Scout equipment and patrol equipment to bring were offered at last week's meeting and are available now at pccscouting.org through the council calendar. Don't forget your 10 essentials!
The patrol should plan its own lunch to prepare on the trail. Troop adults will be hosted for lunch by the Snowando Staff.

116th Scout Anniversary Dutch Oven Dinner, Wesley Church. Dinner will start early with Opening Ceremonies at 6:25 p.m., Dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by Dessert about 7:15 p.m. followed by the program. The annual troop picture will be taken in uniform.
The troop will provide beverage, salad, rolls, and dessert.
Scouts, Scouters, and interested parents may prepare Dutch Oven entrees at Wesley Church after school starting about 4 p.m. or earlier. Signup at the troop meeting this week.
Dutch Oven Recipes will be available/distributed for some of the priors: Boston Chili, Boy Scout Beef Stew, Chicken Alfredo, Chicken and Rice, Classic Chicken Pot Pie, Dutch Oven Lasagna, Hamburger Pizza, Macaroni and Cheese, Mom's Meat Loaf, Pizza Pasta Bake, Shepard's Pie, and Tater Tot Casserole.

Hoo Doo Ski Trip with overnight at Black Butte Ranch. The troop is planning a group trip to the Hoo Doo Ski Area, leaving Wesley Church the morning of February 7th at 7:00 a.m. Signup this Wednesday so we can give the order for lift tickets, lessons and equipment (ski or snowboard) to Hoo Doo as they prefer two weeks notice. Helmets are required for all participants.
The troop will pay for all lodging and lessons and half the cost of the lift tickets and equipment.
Balance to come from the scout activity allowances.
Plan to bring a sack lunch for February 7th and the troop will provide the remaining meals.
Participants must have Scout Medical Forms parts A & B on file with the troop. (Check with Suzanne Rodriquez).
Adults staying overnight at Black Butte Ranch must be registered Scouters with current SYT at my.scouting.org. Check with (Dave Ragsdale).

The troop urges all Scouts to go online and register as soon as possible for merit badges as other Scouts are doing so and many of the required silver bordered Eagle Merit Badge classes will soon fill up.
(Please call me – Rush Hoag 541-232-9465 – if a merit badge you are seeking is already filled.) Ask your parents to help you register as there is a $5. registration fee which will include a Scout lunch.
Please enjoy the holiday season. Our next meeting beginning 7 p.m. will be Friday-Saturday, January 2-3, 2026 for the Annual Troop Game Night with late night pizza.
